About aj gurule

I am a Colorado native, father, powder hound and local artist. At the Gurule Gallery, we believe that art is the heart, soul, and rhythm of life. A connection to place, memory, and feeling. A visceral experience of moving through time.

In December of 2014, I was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma. I started painting and creating art as a way to connect and come back to life. When I paint I feel alive, courageous, aware, happy, enlightened, and huge. I'm a vacuum of positivity and eternally grateful. It's these sensations that I hope to capture and express through my work, and share with others who choose to own a piece of my artwork. 

My style could be characterized as free flow vibrant abstracts and distinctive portrait work. Now that I'm cancer free, I want to share this gratitude with everybody. My art is the positive imprint I plan to leave in the world, and I feel blessed for the opportunity to share it.
